Prentis – aussie mix – 8 month old spayed female, UTD on shots, HW negative, microchipped, housebroken, crate trained. Prentis is still a puppy and is full of energy. She loves to go on walks & car rides. She knows how to sit and squeaky toys are her very favorite things. She is fine with cats and dogs and older children. This unique looking girl is a very nice dog that would love a family of her own.

Sydney is a 2 year old red merle, housebroken, neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and as healthy as can be. His last owner turned him into rescue because she moved and couldn’t have a dog. Sydney had been tied up outside until it turned real cold. Incredibly Sydney is housebroken and well behaved for a young dog that has lived most of his life outside. He likes to be petted, gets along with other dogs and loves playing ball. So if you are gearing up for spring training and need a team mate, Sydney might just be the dog for you!

Please contact Lynn for more information about Foxy.
Foxy 1.5 yr old blue merle Aussie, spayed but may need some shots. She is sweet, energetic, happy, loves people, kids, other dogs, OK with cats in moderation – 12 is to many. Foxy will sleep in bed with you if allowed, housebroken, and seems to be well behaved in the house. She will guard the food bowl a bit from other dogs, was not bad because a verbal correction was enough. She is reserved with strangers as aussies should be, however she warms up quickly and her tail wags constantly. Foxy was surrendered to a shelter due to her previous family moving.

Please contact Lynn for more information about Muffin.
Muffin is a 7 or 8 year old female blue heeler – American Cattle Dog – could be mixed with something but looks pretty much pure bred. She was found as a stray about 5 years ago and was relinquished due to poor human handling. Here is her story – Muffin was living on a farm with a boarding barn. When a family with a small child visited the farm, they entered the backyard where Muffin was tied to the porch to keep her out of trouble. The small child was sitting on Muffin and pulling her ears when Muffin nipped the girl. You and I might feel that was much deserved, but the owners were told to get rid of the dog. Her current foster home has observed Muffin with her grandchildren and she did really well, although it would be best for her to go to a home without kids. She gets along with other dogs, is up to date on her shots, housebroken and will do anyting for a cookie. Muffin would really appreciate a place to call her own!

Dear Kay,
I am writing this to let you know that I had put Bugsy down this past week. Attached is a photo taken this past summer. He had contracted lymphoma about 4 years ago and it had gone into remission. This past March he was diagnosed with bone cancer and given 4 months to live. In the true spirit of the tough dog he was, he lived for an extra 6 months more than that. I wanted to thank you for allowing me to adopt him in 2001. I still remember that day at Queeny Park when you introduced us. He became my best friend and my family and other friends always commented on his intelligent look and the look of love he always gave me. My house seems a little empty now but after a little time I will replace him with another but he could never be replaced.
Again thank you so much.
John
Happy Valentines Day from all of us! We are all thankful for everything you guys (Sheila, Kay, and everyone at the St. Louis Aussie Rescue) have done for our Gracie, you are all truly special people!

Contact Diane for more information regarding Harry.
I’m about to inherit Harry, a 6 year old australian shepherd from some friends of mine. I’ve been watching him get shuffled around for the past year now by people with good intentions but not so stable lifestyles. A friend of mine took him away from his abusive owner, then he went to some other friends, they were evicted and Harry has been in three homes since then. He’s neutered, chipped, cat friendly, as sweet and easy as they come and an incredibly great dog. He would fit in anywhere. He’s a complete snuggle bug – I love this dog. Harry is great with kids of all ages.

Rascal was adopted 2/23/10!
Rascal is an attention loving 1 year old that is up to date on his shots, neutered and heartworm negative. He loves to run and jump (in fact he’s a fence jumper, but stays around the yard, so he needs a 6 foot fence) and shows some interest in toys but soon finds something else to investigate. Rascal was formerly an outside dog and has certainly taken to having a warm place to sleep. Actually, he prefers to find someone at his foster home to sleep with! Rascal is OK with cats and likes car rides. He’s also a little heavy at 71 lbs, but we are working on that! Because of Rascal’s size, it is hard to remember how young he is and how much he has to learn. Rascal needs someone that will help him with house manners and training. We are betting that Rascal’s zest for life might be contagious!
