Jenny was adopted 8/23/10!
Private Referrals are listed as a courtesy to other rescues, shelters, and private individuals looking to place a dog. Any adoption resulting from this listing is a matter solely between the lister and potential adopter.
Jenny is a one year old Australian Shepherd mix. She is VERY affectionate and loves to be with people.
Jenny’s former owner was planning a move from the country to the city and decided that he couldn’t take Jenny with him. Instead of trying to find her a new home his solution was to shoot her. I heard about what the man was planning on doing and rescued her from this horrid situation. I am now looking to find Jenny a loving family that will give her the chance at life that she deserves.
She is spayed, crate trained, knows a few obedience commands, and walks very nicely on a leash.
To learn more about Jenny please contact me at Jennifer. A $100 adoption fee will apply.

Zuzu was adopted 10/22/10!
Zuzu, 3 to 4 year old black tri female – small – weighing in just under 35 lbs – UTD on shots, HW negative, crate trained, housebroken. Zuzu was dumped at animal control in southern MO because her family was moving. We have figured out that she must have lived in an apartment because each time when she is finished eating, she runs to the door to go for a walk! She gets along well with other dogs and older children. She is very loving and seems to prefer women over men. She is a very quiet dog and really likes routine.

Just a quick note to thank you for facilitating this wonderful adoption! We are very, very pleased with Chip and for the extreme kindness we have received from both Joan and her Mom for bringing Chip to our home in Maryland.
This wonderful dog has a soft and trusting side to him and it is already coming out in these past few days he has been with us. He is getting along well with his new brother, Duke and sister, Sasha. I am so pleased at how well he is doing and our family is just in love with this little guy. He is a true gem and we are so fortunate that this “dream” became a reality. I can’t thank you enough and Joan for giving this dog a chance and giving us the opportunity to be his family. He has graced us with his loving presence and I see it in him and should just be a few more weeks before he will really drop his “guard”. Joan had mentioned he didn’t get up on the bed when she had him and last two nights he has popped up in the bed and slept with my husband and myself (he does have his own new beds to chose from!). But a warm furry body is always a joy to sleep with.
Thank you for giving us a chance and for trying something new, out of state adoption! I see many wonderful things for all of us in this dogs future.
Many thanks,
Joy
