I have not gotten attached to any dog until I saw Chip on that site. I was rather surprized by that. I just could not stop thinking of him. Through Natalie Whalen of the Sheltie Rescue which at the time she housed the animals at her place and now it is Central Illinois Sheltie Rescue we had fostered a few dogs for her. Well, 8 years ago we could not give up one of the Sheltie's and ofcourse we adopted her. She was the love of our life. My husband could not wait to get him every night. Sadie would run and great him at the door. The two of them had so much fun greeting each other. We never made any decisions without thinking of Sadie first. We lost her last year. We had her to two different University hospitals in and out of State. We finally had to let her go before things got too tough for her. She had Heart issue along with pancreatic cancer. She went peacefully in our arms at our vet's office. They have a special room for services of that kind. Our hearts and our lives stopped that day. It has been very difficult for us. I myself said I could not have another dog because of my love for Sadie. My husband misses the companionship. Well, how it happened I am not sure. When I saw Chip and read his story I thought there...that is the dog for us. I wanted to also have two dogs this time. I would love to find another dog know older than 2. I really prefer to have the second dog with the black hair also. Now, that I have gone on and on, does Chip have a new home? You can just respond to our email address if she has left your home.
