Contact gotsheep@charter.net for more information regarding Tuff.
Tuff is a 2 ½ year old male Border Collie, black and white rough coat. He is in good health and current on vaccinations. He was also neutered last December. He’s an extremely sweet and loving boy and is a sensitive soul. He responds best with kindness and gentle words and really wants to please. He’s been a great best friend and loves to be with people. When I’m on the computer he likes to curl up under the chair and lean up against your leg, but if you get up he’ll jump up to see where you are going. He is used to sleeping in my room with me and likes to curl up and lean against me while I read or come say good morning. Once I tell him “time to get up” he will bounce and dance around excitedly. He is awesome in the car and loves to go places, especially walks at the park. He will play fetch all day long and especially loves his jolly ball. He has a definite quirky border collie
personality and can be very silly and playful. He sometimes gets a little obsessive chasing shadows and I usually try to distract him with a toy. He knows basic commands sit, lie down, paw, round, and responds to his name- although I would not trust him off-leash. He loves to do tricks for treats and has been to puppy class and a few basic agility classes- although he was always a bit nervous on some of the equipment and it took a lot of patience and understanding to help him to have a positive experience. He’s also done a little bit of herding and showed definite interest.

Tuff’s best quality is as a best friend and constant companion. It breaks my heart to part with my buddy, but I believe in my heart he needs to be in a one-dog home. I have one other border collie who is great friends with Tuff, but since Tuff was little (I’ve had him since he was 12 weeks) he has had issues with food guarding/aggression which has led to fights between the two. I hate to break up the pair but I truly believe it’s for the best for both dogs. Tuff would make a wonderful, loving companion for someone who has time and room in their heart and home for him. I hope to find someone who will love Tuff like I do and appreciate his sweetness and his unique personality. He’s full of funny quirks like the funny way he sticks his tongue out or how he’ll nudge your hand when he comes to see you. He can be very sensitive and gets scared during thunderstorms or if there are fireworks or loud noises- usually then he is most comfortable curling up in the bathroom until the storm or noise passes. He is also crated when I am not at home since he sometimes chews things and is good about going in when I say “kennel”. Although Tuff has problems with food aggression towards other dogs, he has always let me handle his food and takes treats nicely. He loves people and wags his tail at everyone who walks by when he’s out or at the park. He’s such a friendly boy and I hope to find the best forever home for him where he can be happy and loved. He would be so happy to be doing anything with his person and would do best with someone who has plenty of time for him.
