Adopted!
Izzy was adopted 3/27/11!
Izzy, 1 year old black tri mini female. Housebroken, crate trained, microchipped, soon to be spayed. Izzy is a sweet little girl who came from a home where the father was an abusive drunk so she is very fearful of men. She will come around but it takes some patience for a man to gain her trust. She is great with children, dogs and cats & loves to play with all of them. Izzy is a special needs girl because of her previous abuse and will need to be placed in a home without men or men who are understanding of her fear and willing to work slowly with her.
Jack was adopted 4/15/11!
Jack, 3 year old blue merle male, neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots, HW negative, housebroken, crate and leash trained. Jack is a dog that loves life and people. He is an athletic dog that is very bright and loves to learn. He learns very quickly but also gets bored with repetitive, stern training. He likes the lighter side of life and responds better to positive reinforcement. Jack is good with getting a bath & having his nails trimmed. He knows sit, down, get back, crate, off and walks nicely on leash although he does like to sniff all the wonderful trees instead of staying at your left side but then what young dog doesn’t? He has been in a home with another aussie and tends to be more of the dominant one but is not aggressive or mean. He is still very young at heart and would do well in an active home that gives him lots of attention and perhaps a job to do. Jack would be a great candidate for either agility or obedience or anything else that keeps his mind and body busy. He needs to be in a home without cats. Jack was turned into rescue because of his owners failing health.

Nikita was adopted 5/28/11!
Nikita is a 2 year old aussie mix, she is housebroken, crate trained, microchipped and up to date on her shots. She was picked up from a shelter shortly before giving birth to her puppies. Her puppies have found homes and now Nikita is waiting for a home of her own. She is a delightful girl that gets along great with other dogs, seems to love everyone and is very attentive to the people in her life. It may take her a moment to warm up, but after that she is all love and joy. Nikita is still young and will learn the ropes in no time, but needs a little training. This beautiful brown eyed girl has waited long enough for a nice comfortable dog bed and a loving home. Why not consider adding Nikita to your family!
Tempe was adopted 3/21/11!
Private Referrals are listed as a courtesy to other rescues, shelters, and private individuals looking to place a dog. Any adoption resulting from this listing is a matter solely between the lister and potential adopter.
Available to a performance home!
Tempe is 2 years old (born 1/8/2009) and housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, rides in the car quietly, current on heartworm and shots. She is structurally correct and is conformation quality. She is exceptionally smart and I think would excel in a performance home. She would do best in a home as the only dog or with a male as she can try to bully other females. She is AKC/ASCA registered. Her granddam is the top producing female for 2008, meaning more of her offspring finished their AKC CH than any other Aussie female.

Rain, old english sheep dog mix, female, UTD on shots, HW negative, microchipped, housebroken, crate trained, 66 pounds and 3 years old. Rain was turned into a shelter because her owners were moving and didn’t want to take her. It was truly their loss because this girl is an angel! Rain loves people, if very affectionate and travels wonderfully. She has been around a 4 year old well behaved child and was fine. Rain gets along fine with other dogs, but we occasionally see her getting a little nervous and she would do better without a dominant dog in the family. She has several old scars on her face & one of her ears has been torn, so we assume that she must have lived with an aggressive dog or dogs at one time and was bullied. Because we can’t find anything wrong with her & think some lucky family will think she’s perfect also! And yes, she does have one amber eye and one blue eye – she is quite unique and totally beautiful. We found that Rain can jump fences, so she needs a 6 foot fence. Cats are not a good idea for Rain, as she found the love of chase! This beautiful, loving, sweet, wonderful girl deserves a great new family. Are you that great new family!

Rudy was adopted 3/5/11!
Rudy, 3 to 5 year old sheltie/golden mix (our guess) – neutered, utd on shots, HW negative. housebroken, crate trained (but doesn’t need to be in a crate). Rudy found himself in animal control in pretty rough shape. We have no idea how such a nice boy ended up homeless!! He is only 35 lbs (grossly underweight so he should weigh around 40) and absolutely obedient! You can tell him to go lay down on his bed from across the room and he does – he HAD to have been someone’s dog – he just knows too much not to have been. He is wonderful with other dogs and children. Rudy, Rudy fresh & fruity – when his foster mom says that to him he thinks it’s a game and starts prancing around and jumping up to play. He knows sit, shake and will also entertain himself by playing with toys. Rudy may not be an aussie but he is certainly a nice boy that would make a wonderful pet for anyone.
Update: Spring Training has started, and the first player at the plate is…….Rudy! Rudy is not holding out for millions. Noooooo, he just wants a pat on his head and the occasional “Good Boy”! He races to the outfield to get the ball and speeds back to home plate, where he drops the ball at the ump’s feet.
Rescue dog – $225
Tennis ball – $1.95
Fun on a sunny afternoon – Priceless!
