Rusty – 8 year old red tri – this big beautiful boy is full of himself and life – he is very friendly and loves to be groomed. He was very homesick the first few days in his foster home but is settling in nicely. He had to be shaved some (these pictures are before that) because he had become so matted that he had a severe skin infection under the matts. Rusty has never met a stranger and enjoys lots of attention. He was a show dog in his younger days and still remembers how to stand to be examined.

Foster Mom’s update: Rusty is doing great. You wouldn’t believe he’s the same dog that arrived here last week. He’s recovering from the surgery fine. I have fed and walked him, now he’s my new BFF! He’s been playing with Buddy. He is housebroken. Of course he doesn’t know basic commands. I have no idea what commands he does know, but he’ll do anything if you put a leash on him. He’s an easy dog. Very gentle and sweet. Playful, but not assertive. He’s not submissive either. We are working on the steps. He can go down, but not up. Rusty is always looking for a treat after he does something on the leash. Rusty is a great dog!

I have looked at Rusty’s information and picture and I have kind of “fallen” for him! I filled out the online application through the STL Aussie Rescue website and would like to find out more information about him.

    Jessica,
Rusty is a sweet dog. You will be contacted after Kay has a chance to process your application.
Thanks for thinking about a rescue dog. We get in some of the sweetest dogs. And they make fostering a fun hobby!
