Tempe was adopted 3/21/11!
Private Referrals are listed as a courtesy to other rescues, shelters, and private individuals looking to place a dog. Any adoption resulting from this listing is a matter solely between the lister and potential adopter.
Available to a performance home!
Tempe is 2 years old (born 1/8/2009) and housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, rides in the car quietly, current on heartworm and shots. She is structurally correct and is conformation quality. She is exceptionally smart and I think would excel in a performance home. She would do best in a home as the only dog or with a male as she can try to bully other females. She is AKC/ASCA registered. Her granddam is the top producing female for 2008, meaning more of her offspring finished their AKC CH than any other Aussie female.

Kay & Candy:
Just a short note to let you know that Bogey (Caesar) is doing fantastic (adopted in Sept. 2010). We all love him very, very much. He has added years of life to our 11 year old lab as they are the best of friends. Bogey is an extremely well-mannered guy and we couldn’t be more happier with him or ask for anything more in a dog. My husband says that he is more human than dog. He will start 4-H obedience classes next month with my daughter with hopes of showing at the county fair in July.
Photos: Bogey enjoys sleeping with us. I’m not sure what we’ll do when tick season gets here, but for now, we’re enjoying our cuddle time (and the thing with Bogey, if we tell him “off”, he gets off and doesn’t jump back up unless he has permission—what a good dog!). The other photos are just some black & whites in the snow. I like how he just blends into the snow. The little bump on his nose is from trying to bury a bone in the frozen ground. He’s not a digger, so his nose took a licking!
Hope you had a good holiday season. Take care.

Rain, old english sheep dog mix, female, UTD on shots, HW negative, microchipped, housebroken, crate trained, 66 pounds and 3 years old. Rain was turned into a shelter because her owners were moving and didn’t want to take her. It was truly their loss because this girl is an angel! Rain loves people, if very affectionate and travels wonderfully. She has been around a 4 year old well behaved child and was fine. Rain gets along fine with other dogs, but we occasionally see her getting a little nervous and she would do better without a dominant dog in the family. She has several old scars on her face & one of her ears has been torn, so we assume that she must have lived with an aggressive dog or dogs at one time and was bullied. Because we can’t find anything wrong with her & think some lucky family will think she’s perfect also! And yes, she does have one amber eye and one blue eye – she is quite unique and totally beautiful. We found that Rain can jump fences, so she needs a 6 foot fence. Cats are not a good idea for Rain, as she found the love of chase! This beautiful, loving, sweet, wonderful girl deserves a great new family. Are you that great new family!

Rudy was adopted 3/5/11!
Rudy, 3 to 5 year old sheltie/golden mix (our guess) – neutered, utd on shots, HW negative. housebroken, crate trained (but doesn’t need to be in a crate). Rudy found himself in animal control in pretty rough shape. We have no idea how such a nice boy ended up homeless!! He is only 35 lbs (grossly underweight so he should weigh around 40) and absolutely obedient! You can tell him to go lay down on his bed from across the room and he does – he HAD to have been someone’s dog – he just knows too much not to have been. He is wonderful with other dogs and children. Rudy, Rudy fresh & fruity – when his foster mom says that to him he thinks it’s a game and starts prancing around and jumping up to play. He knows sit, shake and will also entertain himself by playing with toys. Rudy may not be an aussie but he is certainly a nice boy that would make a wonderful pet for anyone.
Update: Spring Training has started, and the first player at the plate is…….Rudy! Rudy is not holding out for millions. Noooooo, he just wants a pat on his head and the occasional “Good Boy”! He races to the outfield to get the ball and speeds back to home plate, where he drops the ball at the ump’s feet.
Rescue dog – $225
Tennis ball – $1.95
Fun on a sunny afternoon – Priceless!
Tramp was adopted 3/18/11!
Tramp, 3 to 4 year old neutered male, UTD on shots, HW negative, microchipped, house broken, crate trained. In the picture from the shelter Tramp looked like a black tri aussie with a tail – truly he did. Imagine my surprise when this precious boy arrived – all 18 lbs of him! He may have some aussie blood in him, but other than his coloring, it doesn’t show up much. In spite of that we love him & he’s a sweet, self confident boy who is friendly with everyone & is just an all round nice dog. If I were to guess, I’d say he is some kind of spaniel mix. For all of you wanting a nice dog that is a great size for an apartment or an older couple that would like a smaller boy, Tramp is just waiting for you!!
ZsaZsa was adopted 2/25/11!
ZsaZsa – the last of the Gabor girls is finally ready to find her own home. She has had a little bit of a rough time but has been a “very easy keeper” per her foster parents. Her heartworm treatment will be complete the beginning of February & she will be good as new. ZsaZsa is a delightful little girl who seems to enjoy every day of her life. She starts out by dancing for her breakfast and her attitude just gets better as the day goes on. She gets along with other dogs & is fine with children. She is crate trained & housebroken. ZsaZsa does get a little nervous on car rides but she settles quickly. Her only fault might be the 5 extra pounds she is carrying but now that her health is perfect, it should be easy to slim her down. ZsaZsa is a joy to have around & we are certain she will bring much happiness to her new home.
Butch was adopted 3/8/11!
Butch is a very handsome red tri who is 3 years old, housebroken, goes in a crate easily, walks well on a leash, loves car rides, is HW negative, UTD on shots and microchipped . He has great house manners and only goes up on furniture if invited. He LOVES other dogs and has lots of energy to play. He lived with a Great Dane and a big boxer on the farm so even though he is 60 pounds, he was the little guy. His Aussie butt never stops wiggling and he seems to be smiling all the time and is always ready for some serious games of fetch with lots of cuddling afterwards. Butch would love a family with kids 10 and over. He is very gentle but his energy and size may overwhelm little ones. This Country boy is ready for City life with the right family.
