Lulu was adopted 8/21/11!
Lulu – Anatolian Shepherd mix – approximately 10 months old, spayed, microchipped, housebroken, crate trained.
This wonderful girl was dumped and found her way to one of our foster homes – she is a very happy girl with a fun personality – along with being big & beautiful – our vet thinks she will be around 100 lbs at maturity. Don’t let her size deter you – she is a “gentle giant” around the toddler at her foster home. She gets along well with other dogs and absolutely LOVES children. Lulu rarely barks and two of her favorite things are snuggling and getting petted. Whoever adopts this gem will never regret it!

Scout was adopted 3/21/11!

Scout is a black tri mini-Aussie weighing about 20 pounds. He will be one in March so he shouldn’t get much bigger, but could stand to gain a couple of pounds. Scout’s early days have made him timid around new humans as he was in a puppy mill, then adopted and returned, then ended up in a shelter. All that shuffling around has made him nervous but he’s fitting in nicely in his foster home playing with other dogs. He is housebroken, crate trained, microchipped, UTD on shots and walks OK on a leash. We don’t know about cats or kids, but we don’t see any reason he would have problems with either one. He’s experiencing so many new “normal life” things right now, he exhausted by the end of the day and loves to sleep on the bed at your feet. Scout will need some patience until he can trust you, but after all he has been through, he still loves to be close and deserves a new loving home.

Rain

Rain, old english sheep dog mix, female, UTD on shots, HW negative, microchipped, housebroken, crate trained, 66 pounds and 3 years old. Rain was turned into a shelter because her owners were moving and didn’t want to take her. It was truly their loss because this girl is an angel! Rain loves people, if very affectionate and travels wonderfully. She has been around a 4 year old well behaved child and was fine. Rain gets along fine with other dogs, but we occasionally see her getting a little nervous and she would do better without a dominant dog in the family. She has several old scars on her face & one of her ears has been torn, so we assume that she must have lived with an aggressive dog or dogs at one time and was bullied. Because we can’t find anything wrong with her & think some lucky family will think she’s perfect also! And yes, she does have one amber eye and one blue eye – she is quite unique and totally beautiful. We found that Rain can jump fences, so she needs a 6 foot fence. Cats are not a good idea for Rain, as she found the love of chase! This beautiful, loving, sweet, wonderful girl deserves a great new family. Are you that great new family!

Jenny is a one year old Australian Shepherd mix. She is VERY affectionate and loves to be with people.

Jenny’s former owner was planning a move from the country to the city and decided that he couldn’t take Jenny with him. Instead of trying to find her a new home his solution was to shoot her. I heard about what the man was planning on doing and rescued her from this horrid situation. I am now looking to find Jenny a loving family that will give her the chance at life that she deserves.

She is spayed, crate trained, knows a few obedience commands, and walks very nicely on a leash.

Chili

An adoption is pending. Chili, 3 year old neutered aussie mix, UTD on shots, HW negative, microchipped, cratetrained, housebroken. Chili ended up in rescue because his owners are moving to that mysterious state that doesn’t allow dogs. Chili has impeccable house manners and is a delightful house guest for his foster parents. He is wonderful with other dogs being especially gentle and sweet with puppies. Chili is not very big – just under 40 lbs – just the right size & temperament for any situation!

6/28/10 Update from foster mom – Flip that is mentioned is their 12 week old puppy:

Chili is such a sweet boy. Calm in the crate and lies there waiting patiently to be let out with his front paws cross and head up – no panting or craziness.

Impeccable house manners. Absolutely no marking. Eats normally without complaint. He’s still eating in his crate.

Chili picked up a ball and ‘showed’ it to Flip and walked along side him and threw it for Flip to catch. It was almost as is he was training Flip – ‘see I throw it and now you catch it’ I observed that last night. He is super gentle and loving with Flip. Flip adores Chili and wants to be with him all the time. Chili likes to go into Flip’s xpen and we often put him in there together.

Rose

Rose was adopted 3/27/10!

Rose is a delightful 6 month old aussie mix. She is up to date on her shots, spayed and heartworm negative. She was born on a farm and unfortunately for Rose she had a love for chickens and her owner decided she had to go. So Rose ended up in a shelter and made her way to our rescue. She is a sweet and loving puppy that is doing all the things young pups like to do. Play! Play Hard! Nap! Rose or Rosie or Rosie O’Grady is doing very well in the house. She follows from room to room and has the best temperament. Oh, and that tail of hers never stops wagging. Rose became fast friends with her foster home dogs and has been great with visiting 6 – 8 year olds. She needs training and guidance, as all puppies do, but it will be worth all your time and effort. These pictures do not do Rose justice as she is one beautiful puppy that will grow into a faithful friend for many years.

Dixie

Dixie – Adopted 2/8/10!

She was the last to be born – almost 9 hours after Spot. Dixie was the “runt” of the litter, but she caught up to the others very quickly and weighed as much as her sisters within the first week. She is all black and has some brindle highlights on her feet. She is the shyest of the bunch and very, very loving. Dixie loves cats. She’s quite calm but can really sprint when she gets in the playing mood outside. She also like a good game of tug-a-war with her siblings.

Born 10/20/09, all the puppies from this litter have been handled and socialized. These pups are All American mixes and their sweet, loving mother appears to have some shepherd in her. Fill out an application if you are interested in one of these puppies! The adoption fee is $100 and it covers puppy shots but does not cover the spay or neuter.

Jessie – 2 to 3 year aussie mix spayed female, UTD on shots, HW negative, microchipped, housebroken, cratetrained. Jessie is a very sweet girl who loves to play with other dogs, go on car rides and taking walks. Jessie is shy with men but adores women and loves to cuddle and be petted. She is good with children and is reliable enough to not be crated when her foster mother is gone. Jessie will require moderate brushing each week to keep her beautiful coat in good condition. Jessie was adopted 12/08/09!
