Travis was adopted 7/30/11!
Travis – 3 year old black bi neutered male, UTD on shots, HW negative, microchipped, housebroken. Travis was picked up as a stray in Kentucky and no one came looking for him. It is very evident that he was someone’s house pet. He knows sit and shake, walks well on leash and has immaculate house manners. He loves kids, has never met a stranger, is good with cats and female dogs. Travis is NOT good with other males so needs to be placed in a home as an only dog or with female dogs only. It amazes us that Travis’ former owners were not looking for him – he has been loved and cared for in his past life and it most certainly shows!

Macy was adopted 8/11/11!
Macy – 4 year old black tri female – spayed, UTD on shots, HW negative, crate trained, housebroken, microchipped. Macey was turned into rescue because her family had a baby and no longer had the time for her. She is a very sweet girl who is afraid of some men but was very good with her former owner. We haven’t figured out what triggers her fear with some men, but she will warm up to them if they are patient with her. She is very good with other dogs and children and is interested in cats, but not ugly with them. She has a sweet temperment and would probably be best in a home with only women or at least a low key man.

Cody was adopted 5/27/2011!
Cody, red merle male, approximately 18 months old, UTD on shots, microchipped, crate trained, housebroken. Cody was picked up as a stray in southern Missouri and brought into rescue several months ago. Poor boy was malnourished and heartworm positive so he has nursed back to health and is now ready for a family of his own. Cody absolutely LOVES everyone – we are sure there must be some golden retriever in his ancestry! He is an active boy that would be a wonderful jogging or hiking partner. He would also probably be too exuberant for small children but kids over 10 year would have a ball with him. This beautiful boy is a sweetheart ready to settle in with a family of his own!

Isen was adopted 5/24/11!
Isen, 4 year old black tri, neutered, UTD on shots, housebroken, crate trained, microchipped. Isen is an ex-show dog – he was loved very much by his breeder, but she had to downsize because of family issues. He was NOT a kennel dog but was a house pet. He has been around small children, but we would prefer he go to a home with older children. Isen is especially fond of men and totally beautiful. He is in a foster home with cats and seems to be fine with them.

All of Annie’s Puppies were adopted 2-20-11!

Annie’s puppies were born on January 7th. Annie is a blue merle and dad is a red tri. All the puppies are healthy and ready to find their new families. These cuties have had their first shot. The adopters will be responsible for the remainder of the puppy shots and spay and neutering. Their adoption fee is $400.

Brownie was adopted 12/13/10!
Brownie, 1 year old neutered red tri male, UTD on shots, HW negative, housebroken, crate trained. Brownie was removed from his first owner – an 85 year old woman – because the state deemed her “crazy”. I’m not sure exactly what that means but Brownie is terribly overweight and didn’t know many manners. He has progressed quickly in his foster home and we are working on his weight. His coat is in rough condition & sun bleached but we can tell that once it has recovered it will be a beautiful mahogany color. Brownie’s foster mom is doing a great job teaching Brownie acceptable behavior. He loves everyone including the pre-teen daughter but still likes to put his mouth on the daughter as if to lead her around. He does NOT bite or nip, just gently puts his muzzle around her wrist or ankle as if to “guide” her to where he thinks they are going. He tolerates the cat but would not be trustworthy alone with cats so we prefer to place him in a home minus cats. Brownie is still puppy at heart and a bit of a clown. He’s a very nice boy who needs to be in a home with someone who has dog smarts and is the leader.
11/9/10 Update: Brownie is doing wonderfully in his quest to regain a waist – he is now at the perfect weight. We wanted to take some updated pictures but his coat is still so sun bleached that he looks like someone got carried away with highlights! Hopefully in a month or so after his fall shed we will have new pictures showing off his beautiful new hair in a beautiful shade of mahogany. Brownie is a high energy dog that will need someone who knows Aussies and wants a dog that thrives on interacting with them. He would make an awesome agility dog or running partner. He remains a sweet boy without a mean bone in his body & has yet to find someone he doesn’t love. He is a perfect gentleman in his crate & settles down quietly.

Caesar was adopted 9/21/10!
Caesar – 2 to 3 year old blue merle male, UTD on shots, HW negative, housebroken, crate-trained. These pictures do not do justice to this handsome young boy – his coat is recovering from poor nutrition and a month stay at animal control – but give him 6 months of TLC & he will be a show stopper! He’s a really good boy – great with other dogs and cats. We don’t know about children but have no reason to believe he would not be good with well behaved older children. Caesar has a medium energy level – loves to run outside but settles down quietly once in the house. He is really friendly and has yet to meet a stranger. He has an excellent recall and sleeps on the floor next to his foster parents bed.
